    Some of these are so inscrutable outside their historical context. Was it a big problem for grocers to swap brands of things on people?

        I love it especially in context of different comic where the shopkeeper tries to sell Everett something different than he originally asked for (followed by Everett’s outburst ofc)

        Yep. The fact that the store owner is willing to lose a sale to their competitor because he knows they would be able to better serve the customer never happens. I’d pinch myself too.

      Then or now, it’s far more common for a seller to try to convince you to buy their products than send you to their competitors.

      The only thing that seems strange now to me is the idea that the grocer would carry the cans to Everett’s car.
