I had always heard that mbti personality types are just horoscopes for people who think they’re smart and I always thought that was just a funny jab at how personality typing in general is a pseudoscience that can still be useful to help people conceptualize their own identity and relationships with others in a similar way that people have historically used astrology to connect themselves to such things…

And then I spent 6 months reading up on astrology, cartomancy, etc and realized the mbti is just subtypes of the keirsey types which are just based on the humors / classical Greek elements so yeah actually they really just are nerd horoscopes, although I’ll grant that the incorporation of more self-determination instead of being based on fate / divination is a benefit.

Anyway if you’re down for a non-divinatory tarot reading focusing on your personal identity in relation to your current life situation using western esoteric symbology except all the figures on all the cards are cat memes (I also have a deck that’s entirely emoji), hmu.

it’s an incoherent mess, but I think I can salvage it:

“I thought Myers-Brigg Type Indicators were for people looking for easy identity groups. I also read up about Keirsay’s four temperaments, which I think are based on the Greek four temperaments, but one gives importance to self-determination and another gives importance to fate. Anyway, no conclusion - cats.”

Does that sound like roughly what you were going for?

Eh. Sometimes life is messy and no one can ever really communicate a 100% clear message and in practice most are far far less anyway. But thank you for caring enough to try!
