Different case, same judge. This guy is so ridiculously reliable as a right wing shill that plaintiffs seek him out.

Under the federal code of judges’ conduct, “a judge should recuse himself if a reasonable person in possession of the relevant facts would believe that the judge has reason for bias. And there is good reason to think that this rule covers O’Connor,” [Harvard Law School Professor Noah] Feldman wrote. “Because Musk is so closely identified with both X and Tesla, Tesla share prices are arguably affected by the performance of X.”

Feldman also said “the fact that Musk’s lawyers appear to have sought a way to appear before O’Connor strengthens the case for recusal.” X’s claim that Texas is an appropriate venue because it has advertisers and users located in Texas is “meager, but perhaps less absurd than those used in some other forum-shopping situations,” he wrote.

This was a motion to dismiss a fairly standard thing for a judge to rule on before a trial. The only effect of this ruling is that the case wasn’t dismissed. And if it was dismissed at this stage it likely would have been done without prejudice. Meaning that they could just refile elsewhere.

Don’t forget to mention this is a corrupt judge they specifically went to. He also owns Tesla stock, which is an obvious conflict of interest to anyone (except Republicans).

Reed Charles O’Connor (born June 1, 1965) is a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He was nominated by President George W. Bush in 2007.

O’Connor has become a “go-to” favorite for conservative lawyers, as he reliably rules against Democratic policies and for Republican policies.[1][2] Attorneys General in Texas appear to strategically file cases in O’Connor’s jurisdiction so that he will hear them.[3]

    Fuck Texas.

Source: I live in Texas. Well, ‘live’ is a kind way to say that I inhabit the state. It’s more like I just kind of exist there in perpetual anger and frustration.

Also in Texas because twenty years ago, my beloved wife HAD to have a house and there was no way in hell that was happening in California.

Today the wife is gone, the house is gone, the dogs are dead, and the daughter is grown and living in a far away civilized state that respects her right to exist.

And I’m still here. I pretty much don’t leave the house anymore except to go to work and get groceries. So very, very tired of everything here, but no viable way out in the foreseeable future.

I’m sorry. I hope you’re able to find a viable way out sooner rather than later, and fwiw there are many of us who feel this way. Take care :)

lol they heard about ads being displayed next to fucked up shit, because of randomness and whatever, needed more than one ad to be displayed to show X product next to fucked up shit, and apparently that’s deceptive because not literally every user saw that company next to that specific fucked up post.

    Cool.

“Also, why keep pretending? Texas judge immediately declares case won by Musk, saves everyone time they could be spending on paid vacations instead.”
