“Well, I’ve always liked it,” the ex-president replied. “I don’t know that I’ll be doing very much of it politically because I think it’s been unfair to them. Like, Ivanka was great. She could’ve done anything. Great student. Beautiful girl. Beautiful everything. She’s a perfect person. Worked hard.”

Trump noted that his daughter had a fashion line prior to joining the White House.

“But she gave it up because she wanted to go,” he continued. “And she didn’t want something like the United Nations secretary. I wanted her to do that. I said, you would be a great ambassador to the United Nations, United Nations secretary. There’d be nobody to compete with her.”

I mean Dennis Rodman going to North Korea ( i think? ) feels better than her going to South Korea.

How that turned out, though, was unintentionally hilarious. He got drunk and pooed in a decorative shrubbery. The North Koreans were so horrified, they didn’t know what to do other that to ask him very politely to leave.

I almost feel bad for her, being pressured by her sociopathic father and unable to live her own life. Then I remember Liz Cheney.

Agreed. It’s worth acknowledging that they are only shitty because they were raised by a shitty man who has manipulated them with money their whole lives. There’s a world where they maybe grew up to be good people.

But that is neither here nor there. They didn’t grow up to be good people, that ship has sailed. Now all we can do is hold them responsible for the things that they do.

“only” is pushing it. Plenty of good people had terrible parents.

It’s certainly a circumstance, but in the end they’re still responsible for their own behavior.

Her husband did a huge real estate deal with the Saudi government and saved his own real estate problems in NY.
