Laptops more susceptible to having keyboard recorded in quieter areas, like coffee shops, libraries, offices. Previous attempts at keylogging VoIP calls achieved 91.7 percent top-5 accuracy over Skype in 2017 and 74.3 percent accuracy in VoIP calls in 2018.
This is pretty bad.

What makes the attack work is that
most laptops have uniform, non-modular keyboards, with similar acoustic profiles across models.
A loud keyboard might not be more exposed.
But a custom-built keyboard seems protected against these accoustic attacks, moreso if unsual switches are used.
Just don’t have a mic you can’t physically disconnect.
People are definitely gonna go back and use this tool on all kinds of audio clips that could contain relevant data too.
