One of my biggest fears is being murdered and the true crime podcasts all go into deep dives calling me a loser and talking everything out of context to make me a good victim for their show.

There was one I saw about a girl murdered by some weird boy she knew and they’d gone deep into everything she was doing in the weeks leading upto it, how her diary showed she had a crush on someone but then they went into details about how that guy didn’t like her… it didn’t even add anything to motive or means, it was just an aside about the vixtim being unpopular.

While my wife watches them, I find myself asking “what was the point of adding that into the show?” too often.

It really does feel like the show is just going “And get a load of THIS sad sack, piece of shit, worthless, spineless, insecure little fuckwit who’s just THE most unpopular at school, and work, and all the cool people HATE them ALL BECAUSE [generic reason that 95% of people can relate to]”

I’m sorry show, but we don’t need to know if the murderer had dropped a scoop of ice cream at the park when they were 27.

Get her on some true crime that is respectful and not trash lawl. My partner and I love Casefile, Invisible Choir, Canadian True Crime, and RedHanded.

I’m never sure what she’s currently watching, since she flips around between various shows, and hinges them quickly.

Currently she’s watching some procedural crime drama shows, but I’m sure she will be looking into more when she finishes the current series.

I’ll have to suggest those to her when she starts up again!

Become a murderer yourself and listen to podcasts about your own case, see which podcast does the most accurate theories.

I guess /s, just in case.

Sorry that I have to be the bearer of bad news here (or maybe it’s good news? Who knows). When you’re dead you’ll most likely not care about what people do or say…

Bold of you to assume my insecurity isn’t an immortal eldritch being just hitching a ride inside my meat shell

Since it’s a separate entity from you I’d say my point stands. Also, fuck the being. Don’t let it be the boss of you.

Look at the bright side, you could’ve been a case that an influencer talks about while doing makeup with slangs making it sound like you two were besties.

WTF is up with the influencers talking while doing their makeup in a camera? Someone I know is always watching that stuff, and there seems to be an endless supply of those videos.

Since that’s something we don’t often see, maybe it gives the parasocial friendship vibe.

With my dying breath, instead of writing down the name of my killer I pull myself into a position that makes my death seem much more mysterious.

“But how did the killer enter and leave? The room was locked from the inside and the single door is the only way in or out of the room!”

My wish now is to edit and narrate my post-mortem video, thank you.
