Holy cow. That is quite a read.
I had family involved in all of that. On the union side, and there’s still some of that family line that are furious about it.
Hell, there’s a branch of us that had a more or less socialist upbringing because of it, though I wasn’t part of that directly.
But yeah, I have family in Mingo county that take great pride in the history of it, almost to the point of silliness tbh.

I remember seeing the PBS documentary about the mine wars a few years ago. It is crazy the amount of control these companies had, and the lengths miners had to go through to break free from the system.
