Tweet is from around February 2022; I’m not visiting that cesspool to find the exact date.

They already do, though, that’s what insurance is. They’re just paying for the premium luxury version of liver treatment.

American Libertarians would be okay with many of the contracts we consider illegal, like ejecting people with pre-existing conditions.

That’s not true. Private insurances profile clients and smoker and heavy drinkers pay a hella lot of a premium. And you might think you can just lie on the application, but insurance fraud is a federal crime, and at the very least you’ll get zero out of your insurance if they ever find out.

Now, this also means no entry for diabetics, no treatment coverage for people with vision impairment, in fact, no pre-existing conditions are ever going to be covered, at least not at a loss.

And so universal healthcare exist so that diabetics, cancer patients, people with pre-existing conditions etc don’t get thrown under the bus by every private insurance out there. Because thats what happens in a private insurance market.

But what also happens is that smokers, obese folks, drunk drivers and who else not get treated in hospitals funded by those who are staying healthy and don’t meaninglessly risk their life. And this is the single biggest flaw of such systems.

So, if you think you just made fun of an argument your conservative uncle usually brings up at a family dinner, then I have you know, that your “liberal” dumbass is even dumber than him. Because you confidently claim absolutely stupid shit of which you have no clue. And then you wonder why “the other side never listens”.

It’s cuz to every argument you say “not true, liar!”, even if the facts are as plain as the daylight.
