I mean, that may well be true considering how fucking stupid he is, but it’s not like the project doesn’t align with his interests regardless of whether he knows jack shit about it

One of the many many many things I’ve hated about Trump is that it doesn’t even need to specifically align with his interests as long as it doesn’t get in his way.

Republicans: “we’re going to do XYZ.”

Trump: “Will that affect me? If not who cares, have fun.”

He has always contradicted himself in different settings because he is a bullshitter who says what he thinks people want to hear. He does it more in the same setting or even sentence now than he used to, but there is zero chance he has forgotten what Project 2025 is as a concept.

Oh yeah absolutely; I’m not saying it’s likely he doesn’t know what Project 2025 is, just that his – and conservatives’ more generally – goals align with it so people associated with it are going to end up in positions of power if he gets elected.

Not that Republicans need Trump to win to implement the Project, and in fact they’re already doing it on federal and state levels. See eg. this PDF fact sheet[1] by Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro. And here[2] is an article about how the Project is connected to Tennessee lawmakers and legislation, as an example of state level stuff

Trump knows the transaction behind it, he trades the democracy/freedoms of the US to the christofascists in exchange for being the “dear leader” the playbook helps consolidate power around. He can then squash all his legal problems and ride out his days LARPing being Putin until his dementia becomes an issue and the party “retires” him.

Democrats need to form an ad where they tell the people who just got hit with two hurricanes that the republicans plan on ending the forecasting for said hurricanes and the money for cleanups.

That might be an eye opener for them.

One thing i’ve learned about republicans is that if it directly affects them, they change their tune mighty quickly.

Yes, but it’s impossible to warn them in advance of the thing that will imminently affect them. Because then you’re just a goddamn know it all liberal and that means they will not ever actually critically process any point you make (if they even hear/listen).

Then when the thing happens, it’s the liberals’ fault somehow.

if republicans actually voted for the candidates, policies, and ballot measures that would genuinely provide a better, safer life for themselves without any regard to anything else…

there would be no more republicans in office. ever.

You can torture data long enough to make it say whatever you want.

What if I told you it’s advantageous to media companies if it’s seemingly always tied. It is still too close for comfort, but the stats bias and error margins are carrying a lot of water.

The polls and the media stories are tied. People will lose interest if it isn’t shown as a close race til the end. But the point you mean is valid - this shouldn’t even be a contest, and yet here we are once again, this time with historical evidence of a bad choice and many will repeat the actions anyway.

Will it actually be 50%? I doubt it, if there is large voter turnout and there isn’t various methods of tampering with votes. Hopefully the first will drown out the planned second, as they will try and cheat the system, as it’s the only thing they’ve got.

Well, golly gee. I thought when it comes to the creepy and weird plan that is Project 2025, donnie claims he doesn’t “know her”.

    So weird.
