Yeah that would classify as “tankie shit” to me. Anyone with half a brain (like myself and I’m not American) can see that there are fairly large differences between the two political parties (and some very striking similarities). They are after all all Conservative, right-wing parties.

I actually decide not to defederate because of your position and I thought we were friends but also wanted to have a discussion about what I thought as well. My disagreement with you wasn’t a good reason for you to post about this in a meta community and draw support for your cause and manipulate the thread.

OP is one of those people from the drama that you are referring to about vegan cats on lemmy.world, I and my actual friends who run Vegan Theory Club server were not a part of it. I had previously defederated lemmy.world due to difficulties moderating as I believe the instance is too large and not well gate kept and the problem posts, trolls and down votes were primarily coming from there.
I extended my server to allow space for them as vegans and they used it as a “life boat”, this is a regret of mine as this person acts with extreme immaturity. I am now changing the site and how we curate content due to this.
Lemmy has a complete inability to handle disagreements and discussion in a mature way. As soon as you differ from a mainstream point of view you get posted about in meta communities to target harassment and people wield fediseer to silence you. My views as posted and discussed in the thread screenshotted here are my own and not representative or required of all members in my community to adhere to besides being against hierarchy in all forms. This includes speciesism, military of any kind and authoritarian “communism.”
If you do not want to participate, that is fine by us.

For one: generalised statements are only about you when you fit the description, you be the judge of that. Second: I did not say what you can or cannot do, only that the tag ‘agressive’ is on the wrong group of people. I hear you, and agree it happens there too, but I think Lemmy is particularly guilty. The insular nature of federation and the origin of Lemmy in the first place seems to attract lots of very zealous folks.
Alright I’ve been on Lemmy for over a year now, ever since the API disaster with reddit. I keep seeing tankie. What the heck is a tankie?
