Happy Thanksgiving to all, including to the Radical Left Lunatics who have worked so hard to destroy our Country, but who have miserably failed, and will always fail, because their ideas and policies are so hopelessly bad that the great people of our Nation just gave a landslide…

Trump getting lockjaw is a surefire way to find himself accidentally falling out a window. Putin needs his holster.

I have a set of uBlock Origin filters I turn on in the “my filters” tab when this garbage gets too exhausting. Unfortunately this only works on web browsers.

      Example:

      discuss.tchncs.de##article.post-container:has(.post-title:has-text("Trump"))

Replace with your Lemmy instance domain and keywords of your choice!

Hopefully lemmy apps start enabling keyword filtering.

Oh goodness, he’s so deranged that it’s hilarious!

    😆🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂

    Wait.

    Shit.

People actually take him serious. I keep forgetting that every time I see stuff like this. My first thought is that no one could possibly ever take him serious… And then I remember… he was intentionally elected to lead the most influential country in the world… on purpose!

    😰

Why can’t I wake up from this bad dream?!

    😖

Yes sadly I see more and more people talk about “radical marxists”, “communists”, etc when referring to very mainstream liberal politicians. They seem to be taking all this extreme name-calling seriously. Of course, whether fairly or not, it sounds similarly crazy to many Trump supporters when they or their grifter in chief are labeled “fascists”, “nazis”, and the like. I never thought I’d say this, but I’m starting to miss the political center and moderates. Whatever happened to moderates?

In 2025 MAGA’s will think that Thanksgiving dinner is cheaper than ever since Trump won the election and not even know it’s only cheaper cause half of the family abandoned them. They will just say everything is so cheap thanks Trump and believe it and fail to understand that they just had to buy less groceries.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving this year and eat as much as you can cause this is the last affordable for most MAGAs

The text above is real. America has fast food restaurants failing to sell 1/3 pounders because people think 1/4 pounders are more cause 4 is bigger than 3. A reason why a fast food chain quit selling 1/3 pounders and lost competition to 1/4 pounders. That is the educational standard of 40% of americans.

It’s far easier to hear about them secondhand where the information isn’t cheered on by sycophants. I’m afraid it’s the best we can do.

I recommend watching comedy shows - Seth Meyers (for daily updates), John Oliver, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert. Oh, and occasionally Saturday Night Live.

The only thing I don’t think Seth has touched on accurately is the genocide in Gaza, but I suspect it’s because his wife is Jewish and published a piece in support of Israel. Everything else is spot on.

I struggle with this too, especially from hearing him speak. I think finding summaries and transcripts would be the way to go.

Transcripts are a lifesaver, his voice is so grating and I can’t stand the meandering, brain rot “style” of speaking he has.

But any time they quote his writing it’s the same story, the random casing and bad grammar are just as bad as that fucking voice.

Every thing this guy - the president elect of the United States - says explicitly announces who his enemy is. He will wield the power of the federal government against his enemies.

I can’t even imagine going through life that angry all the time. My dad was an angry guy and died angry and also had dementia in the same way it appears to manifest in Trump. I never had anger at the level my dad did, but seeing that I have vowed to myself that I will not repeat that for myself at the end of my own life.

Being angry all the time is just exhausting anyway.

It’s easier to make people feel angry than to feel angry. And making people feel strongly about anything is a great way to get them engaged with you. I’m sure there’s a name for wanting to feel strong feelings. Maybe it’s just brain chemistry. But Republicans and other malicious actors exploit that.

It’s not that different from the people who are angry all day every day about what Trump, Elon or whoever is doing. Reading articles about them and writing mean comments might feel like activism but the reality is that it’s them and only them whose being harmed by it. Anger is such an exhausting and unpleasant feeling that personally I try and avoid it for as much as possible. It also clouds one’s judgement and makes them less effective about what ever it is that they wish to achieve.

I mean… I’d say it would be, if it weren’t par for the course for someone that’s been sucking up attention for 8 years, and of course if he weren’t also the guy that’s about to be given the largest millitary in the world.
