I’m not a doctor, but from what I’ve seen it’s all the vagus nerve, which is responsible for a whole lot and runs through most of the body… which is why there’s a lot of different responses to the inappropriate use of q-tips. Mine is more in line with the meme, lol.

They do it to me too. It’s fucking weird, but it’s all connected to the throat anyway, so it almost makes sense some of the nerves are shared.
