This was a nice storyline. It’s a bummer he didn’t reappear
I always thought a week strip could have been him with Max while mom and dad had to go out of state for something (funeral on mother’s side maybe?) and Max trying to deal with a kid in a city in a bachelor pad but also like, taking him to tourist things and seeing them from a kids view.
That could have been amazing, and would have neatly solved the problem of Max not being able to address Calvin’s parents by name.
And then Max got on TWA flight 400, and never appeared in the strip again.
