Summary

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called for NYC Mayor Eric Adams to resign or be removed after revelations that his legal team allegedly sought a deal to dismiss his corruption charges in exchange for aiding federal immigration enforcement.

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Danielle Sassoon described this as a “quid pro quo” in a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi.

The controversy has led to multiple Justice Department resignations.

Gov. Kathy Hochul has not decided whether to take action, while Adams praised the case’s dismissal.

Everyone should be saying this, you can’t have a mayor that has this shit hanging over their head. In decades prior he would’ve been forced to resign as soon as those allegations surfaced.

Marion Barry was convicted of felony crack possession, did 6 months in prison and then got reelected. That ship sailed long ago.

Why are they “forced to resign” and not “immediately arrested, charged, and under investigation”?

Like, retaining their job should not even be an option…

I’ll tell you why. Because you live in a corporate dictatorship masquerading as “democracy”.
