Neither wisdom nor intelligence can help him now. He may have to resort to… psionics.

Happened to me in a physics class. Early Tuesday morning, walk in, everyone is studying like mad.

    “What’s going on?”

    “Mid term!”

“That’s TODAY? I thought it was Thursday?”

    “Oh, it’s today!”

So I sit down and eat my breakfast.

    “Aren’t you going to study?”

“Nothing I can do in the next 20 minutes will make a difference. I’m going to relax and eat breakfast.”

Not only did I pass, I got the highest score in the class. People were PISSED.

In fairness, it was a small class, like 12 students.

But it does show the importance of losing the stress and having a meal before an exam. :)

I really did love physics in college, I took 1 year to meet my degree requirement and then had 2 more years worth of electives for fun.

I would have considered it for a minor, but every time I went to the department to ask about it, nobody was there…

I envy you, being able to do so good without much study…

I have a dodgy stomach at the best of times … I make sure not to have a meal too close to any kind of test. I’ll definitely do better on the exam if I’m not resisting the urge to run to the bathroom the whole time.

This is how I always handled tests.

Day of was more about managing my stress and getting into a good headspace for me

I always found physics to be good for that. For that class understanding is more important than raw memorization, and cramming won’t help you understand.

The only thing I ever do for physics last 30 minutes is going through old solved exercises. At least sometimes you can then later remember a trick used in one of those that can help you.

That depends on if you are allowed a formula sheet

I guess that depends on the person. I always found that I remembered the basic ones, and just re-derived forgotten ones on the fly.

A cloak of intelligence wouldn’t have helped, either. Maybe there’s a cloak of knowledge?
