Should have used linux
Remember, vandalism or arson against the property of the rich is just the working class recouping its stolen wages. Someone’s going to have to fix Elon’s broken windows, and the people who do that will have far, far less wealth than Mr. Musk. Some glazier is going to feed his family at the expense of Tesla’s owners. In this day and age of plutocracy, property crime against the wealthy is an unambiguous force of social good.
Remember. The rich have assets. And those assets can burn.
If you flush a popsicle stick down the toilet it won’t go around the p trap and will eventually cause a backup and a plumber will have to come fix it. So think carefully where your popsicle sticks end up.
This analogy works both ways. I’m going to take it’s the capital class flushing the popsicle sticks down the toilet. Now, that toilet is going to cause a massive shit storm.
This is also the mentality we should adopt in general. In the world we live in, having way way more than you need should be seen as extremely shameful. They should be afraid.
Recouping is probably the wrong word here, since no value is actually transferred to the working class from vandalism or arson. Restitution would be more accurate.
Recouping would occur in theft-scenarios.
They’re saying the repair work will also be done by the working class, so by damaging Musk’s windows, you’re guaranteeing work for his glass cutters
He’s not saying the op is wrong but that the OP used the wrong word.
I’m disagreeing. I think it is recouping, so long as it’s done with that intention. Though I don’t agree that it’s actually a good strategy lol
Remember. The rich have assets. And those assets can burn.
I don’t want to live in a violent society, because it’s usually a volatile, unpredictable one, and that’s bad for me. I don’t want to see rich people’s assets burn.
I want to see them taxed. A rule-based, peaceful society benefits the rich immensely by protecting their assets, an extremely valuable service that they should pay for.
So, if anybody can think of a better way to remind them of their obligations to humanity, I’m listening.
And I want a pony.
We are at war. You don’t have to like it. Enough of this sniveling, appealing to an order that is now dead and buried.
We are at war. Start acting like it.
Wood scientist, eh? I used to live just uphill from the Forest Products Lab. It was the place I’ve lived the longest, and still my favorite. That’s an aside.
Read my comment more closely. It’s an argument to the “centrists” who decry all violence, no matter what. I’m sincere, I don’t want to live in a violent society, so I’m truly hoping that one of them can come up with an alternative to violence that would work.
You have to speak to people in a language that they will understand. All evidence up to now shows that violence is the only language nazis understand.
I don’t want to live in a violent world either, but the violence is coming to us regardless.
I love the Forest Products Lab! I constantly reference the Wood Handbook.
We are at war.
The only way to actually win the class war, as opposed to just fighting it, is to raise the tax rates on billionaires back up to 70% or higher. And in order to do that the GOP has to lose elections. If billionaires knew that, no matter what else they did, their tax rates were always going to remain at 70%, they wouldn’t put nearly as much effort into screwing over normal people.
Well you can’t win a war until you start fighting it. Do you understand why the wealthy accepted those high tax rates in the first place? They did so only because they thought the alternative was much worse.
I’m just saying that there is a way to win the class war outright. It doesn’t have to be a war that is always fought and never won. Previous generations ended the Gilded Age for the rest of their lives by winning the class war and creating 90% tax rates for billiionaires in the 1950s.
Do you understand why the wealthy accepted those high tax rates in the first place?
Because Dems controlled both houses of congress and the presidency when the 90% tax rates on billionaires were put into place. Nixon got them lowered to 70%. Reagan lowered them to 50%. Bush and Trump lowered them further. So it matters hugely who controls congress and the presidency.
Just a little burning, as a treat?
Good start!
