The list was given to the embassy by the South African Chamber of Commerce in the U.S., which said it became a point of contact for white South Africans asking about the program announced by the Trump administration last month. The chamber said the list does not constitute official applications.

Trump issued an executive order on Feb. 7 cutting U.S. funding to South Africa and citing “government actions fueling disproportionate violence against racially disfavored landowners.”

Trump’s executive order specifically referred to Afrikaners, a white minority group who are descendants of mainly Dutch and French colonial settlers who first came to South Africa in the 17th century. The order directed Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem to prioritize humanitarian relief to Afrikaners who are victims of “unjust racial discrimination” and resettle them in the U.S. under the refugee program.

Well if there’s ever a progressive president again, at least we know we can deport them instantly without due process.

The next president can remove the benefits of ANY constitutional amendment. If the Supreme Court says no. The answer is “there’s precedent”, then just go out and do it anyway.

So yeah we are screwed .

67,000 white South Africans have expressed interest in Trump’s plan to give them refugee status

Have they? Because I see a news story about an unofficial private business organization that was founded in Atlanta in 2020 handing a list of purported names to the South African embassy. They very easily could have made all these names up as a publicity stunt hoping it would land some of their members new business from racist Anericans.

I have no idea what you’re quoting but I knew a white South African in community college, he used to joke about applying to scholarships for African Americans because he’s an “American from Africa”. At the time I rolled my eyes and explained it was a term for black Americans, but I didn’t know much about apartheid in South Africa at the time and the more I learn the more I regret not punching that dickhead.

Are they just not sending their best or do they all suck?
