the problem with decorative towels is that you can’t bleach or 90°C wash them, when they get super stained from makeup or blood etc… well, you can, but afterwards they cease to be your decorative towels 😄

Given I’ve got Pokemon themed decorative towels, the blood really adds a certain feel to it.

I didn’t think you were supposed to use the decorative towels?

Remember how people used to collect tiny spoons? This is like that. Now it’s towels that say “Fuck off kid, mommy’s getting plastered” Bonus points if you hang it on a shitty wooden ladder.

Ugh or the tiny decorative soaps shaped like roses that you can’t use, they’re for decoration only, but your mom got them as a wedding favor in the '80s so the soaps and the little wicker display basket they came in have accumulated a coating of dust that can’t be removed unless you use water which rUiNs the sOaPs…

That and doilies. I really hate doilies.

Are you old enough to remember those Barbie dolls that old ladies used to crochet a dress for so you could stand Barbie up in a roll of toilet paper and the dress would get pulled down over it? And the toilet paper was light pink?

Yes indeed! My grandmother had one, but I don’t think it was Barbie specifically but a knockoff with dark hair. The doll had a blue dress and so she bought the blue toilet paper. I had completely forgotten about it!

My grandma had a padded pink vinyl toilet seat that matched the Barbie and the toilet paper. When you sat on it it slowly squished all the air out. It was an awful feeling.

There’s truth in that tbh. Lot of people are trying really hard to go for a modern minimalistic look

I’m not sure what this person is talking about because I worked the towels area of an American department store not so long ago, and I wanted a lot of those towels because they were great. Maybe they just aren’t shopping at the right places.

    • I have a pink kitchen towel with an image of a woman wrestling an alligator. It says do one thing every day that scares your family. There’s so much random shit in our house like animal figurines. It makes no sense and I like it that way.

We (my wife and I) do this. We have towels in all colours and trinkets all over the house.
