There’s also a million other people who say it that don’t. A lot of super lefty positions you see on sites like Lemmy are exclusively from terminally online people.
The terminally online people generally have more experience in dealing with people that have opposing ideas and opinions over someone who never goes online, never leaves their country, and never talks to anyone who isn’t just like them and then end up being completely ignorant about people other than themselves and the limited group of people they know, which scares the shit out of them.
Terminally online people tend to a) seek out bubbles where opposing voices are silenced, and b) spiral into extremism due to lack of moderating influence from normal people
Happens to both right and left, it’s just the right has a major news organization pushing extremism as well, and rhetoric on the right is more violent so that translates to more violent real world action.
Lol the terminally online folks need to touch grass. Every shadow they jump at is in their mind. They constantly make new strawmen to fight and they’re all Nazis coincidentally.
You realize most people have mobile phones that allow them to be on the internet when ever right? MOST people are online all the time. Even when they leave the house.
Tell that to the victims of right wing terrorism.
Wha?
The type of person who says shit like that online goes on to shoot up innocent people.
tl;dr: online becomes offline.
