Wisconsin is too busy being drunk and eating cheese. They have everything they want. There is nothing the UP has to offer except for some prime spots to fish.
Why does Wisconsin, the larger state, not simply eat the UP?
Michigan isn’t afraid to throw hands with neighboring states. They won the Toledo War, gaining the UP from Wisconsin Territory, and sticking Ohio with Toledo.
WI has 7000 guardsmen
MI has 20000 guardsmen
The lake is a big barrier, but they have twice the numbers… It would be a rough fight
Wisconsin is too busy sticking their nose in Minnesota’s business, they’re not even looking in that direction
Just cover the battlefield in liquid cheese
If they do that the michigan is just a mitten.
And Wisconsin will turn into Gonzo.
