No Hexbear isn’t brigading you I’m clicking on the main page of the website and replying to whatever I see. I don’t even know what website I’m on, I have ADHD, I aint got the kind of focus. Anyway I’m going to go brigade a thread about video games with my pro-FFXIV propaganda.

Sure wish I wasn’t federated with hexbear, the users seem to have that flavour of leftism I absolutely despise (the terminally online mini dictator one).

Anyway, please downvote this comment to oblivion. Thank you.

We don’t have “downvotes” because, in reality, we’re the antithesis of your delusional beliefs, you Reddit-brained dipshit.

What you really hate is that Hexbear is full of leftists because when you realize there’s an entire world “to the left” of you, you can’t pretend to be the enlightened progressive leftwing white-savior by virtue of not being a member of the most right-wing political group, merely the second most rightwing.

Again, learning something from a Hexbear account which will make you realize your relative position on the global political spectrum is right-wing and fascist as fuck compared to the non-western empires that exploit and steal resources from around the world from countries with lesser power for your own benefit, while pretending you’re an enlightened hero of the world because you eat up neoliberal propaganda that makes you feel like a hero while sitting on your ass consuming your (stolen) treats.

              libertarian* progressive brand of communism

Let me quote another bit of you:

I think Biden would have made for a wonderful president a decade ago. The problem is that our issues are so extreme that such a cordial, non aggressive person is not a good fit

The wrong man for a bad time.

Between the exponential collapse of capitalism under its perpetual growth model, to the climate crisis, to a rise in global authoritarianism, what we needed was someone who can rock the boat and right the ship.

This means that POA would’ve rather had Biden as president than Obamas second term (2013 etc.) - if you are a bit mean to how to interpret it. I would argue that Biden would’ve been a bad US president even 30 years ago, lets say 1993.

Sadly I think you are misinterpreting that fact that politics (especially within a capitalist system) is an expression of economics.

A just society wouldn’t allow them to intermingle.

Which contradicts Marx. There is a reason he wrote the critique of the political economy.

Though that is of course a minor thing and creating different concepts is something that communists ought to do, some phrases coined by that and concepts work better than others though. I would argue that while politics is a kind of expression of economics or modes of productions, material and social relations, super structure and alike, it would be wrong to think that it is just a product that itself is a thing completely separated.

*: The libertarian term is what made people joke about it, since there is quite a number of people who label themselves libertarian communists or anarchists and not few of them are politically incoherent and have bad takes like abolishing age of consent or alike, you certainly are not an “Anarcho” Capitalist and are also not against the abolishing of age of consent, or are you?

Another bit you posted in 196 at blahaj, a now transphobe community:

Hello actual communist here. Commies rock, tankies sucks. We really don’t need or want authoritarian behavior in communist communities.

Which said in squats and communist meetings of trusted comrades have very different emphasis than posted in a reactionary hub. Some would even label you anti communist for it. If you are a communist I would expect you to write more communist stuff in two month honestly.

Finally it is nice that you label yourself a communist, for me communists aren’t people that label themselves as such, but:

Communism is the real movement that abolishes the state of things

So are you part of the real movement? How so? What collective actions and social relations do you forge?

Yeah, I mean, other than the slurs, the vocabulary, the comms, the views on minorities, the views on women, the views on LGBTQIA+, the views on people with different skin colors, the views on people with different religions, the sheer differences in site demographics, the views on economic and political systems, and in general our entire worldview on politics; aside from those very minor differences, we are basically 4chan.

Thinking that we are merely QAnoners or Trumpers betrays your embarrassing lack of knowledge of anything going on outside your borders. To think the world is encapsulated by a fight between liberals and deranged conservatives, where the arena of political thought is just between Biden and Trump (with Bernie representing the Most Socialist You Can Possibly Be), rather than a class war where you both are on the side of the imperialist bourgeoisie, is a frighteningly sheltered worldview.

Insulting people for being dipshit reactionaries isn’t a “toxic behavioral pattern”. The average liberal holding their hands over their ears and screaming “LALALALA I CAN’T HEAR YOU PUTINBOT!!” whenever they hear any rhetoric or politics left of Reagan is infinitely more damaging and toxic to societies online and irl.

            To quote Martin Luther King:

First, I must confess that over the last few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can’t agree with your methods of direct action;” who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a “more convenient season.”

Shallow understanding from people of goodwill is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.

You most definitely can brigade regardless of federation. Brigading refers to organised mass posting by a group of people.

Now, whether or not what’s happening is brigading is another matter. Just having users post there isn’t brigading, there has to be some organisation of some sort, like a post that effectively (intentionally or not) calls people to arms to another post/comment.

By that definition, we brigade all posts on our site and everywhere else, because we have a carefully cultivated culture of organised mass posting everywhere we see. If other Lemmy users aren’t posting with every fibre of their being, that sounds like theeeeir fault.

Posting everywhere individually isn’t a problem, it’s making a post about some other post then everyone from that second post going over to the first - in particular with some sort of call to arms in the second post.

a carefully cultivated culture of organised mass posting everywhere

If it truly is organised, then that is the definition of brigading.

Can somebody please invite me to the secret brigade organizing comm? I’ve never been directed to brigade anyone yet.

I’m a soldier with no CO.

If you share an image of the comments rather than a link it’s less likely to lead to brigading.

What if a link is shared with a different community because that community has a shared interest? Is that brigading? What if it’s crossposted? What if I share your post with my discord friends because I think they’ll have something interesting to contribute? What if I tell one friend about your website? 3? 5? At what point is that brigading?

See this is why brigading is the most worthless concept ever. All of our communities are free and open access. Anyone can pop in from anywhere at any time. And we largely WANT people with shared interests to show up and hang out. That’s literally the point. And we do that by sharing content with those people in hopes they want to stick around. The communities are BUILT off of what you and all the other nerds keep calling “brigading.” So basically you want your insulated community to never grow and never change and be members only FOREVER, or you want your content shared with others with the purpose of engagement in that content.

By the definition I keep hearing about evil evil brigading it just sounds like “stop sharing my post with anyone!” It’s the Internet on public sites. You posted it. It’s on there for anyone to see forever. You already shared it with literally the entire world. People are gonna see it and engage with it. If you don’t want that then you’re free to not post. Simple as.
