He also assailed James for the skyrocketing crime rates that have plagued New York City and the larger state during James’s tenure in office, as well as for having promoted a “Drag Story Hour read-a-thon.”

    The horror!

Promoting tolerance and literacy? Who does she think she is?!

But according to my father (who watches FOX News), merely stepping in the borders of New York City gets one instantly mugged with a 50-50 chance of being killed. Surely, he’s right and everyone i know in NYC who says that it’s safe are really wrong!

Can a person still be banished from a village? Like can he be banished from the state or NYC? That would be sweet.

The goal is to banish his businesses. Part of the sentence they’re seeking is to make it impossible for him and his sons to own a business in New York State.

As a New Yorker, I’ll welcome him back on one condition. In fact, we can even have a parade welcoming him back if the condition is met.

That condition is that Trump is sentenced to a federal prison located in NY.

The saying, “the thief thinks everyone steals” applies here.

Everything he is accusing those aligned against his bullshit of is stuff he has done, or would do. He can’t see the world in any other light.

This applies to the “massive electoral fraud in 2020” claims also. Trump tried various methods to prevent a free and fair election. (For example, getting DeJoy to slow the post office down right when mail in ballots would be coming through.) Since he lost, he can’t accept that it was simply more people voting for Biden/against Trump. No, instead it must have been that the Democrats somehow cheated more than he did.

He’s is trying so hard to get a judge to slap a gag order on him so he can make the story about his free speech rights rather than his blatant and constant criminality.

Now I’m not saying correlation equals causation or anything, but it’s curious that Don had been spending less time in NY and crime is dropping. That’s all I’m saying, you draw your own conclusions.

This trial is really amusing. Guess the two big things that have come to light is

        1. Trump’s attorney never asked for a jury trial

        2. Trump himself will testify

Never asked for a jury trial, and they insist on insulting the judge trying the case.

How do they think it’s going to go?

I have no idea what this is in reference to, but how dare they … checks notesencourage reading??

Chutkan needs to rule on the gag order motion. Can she have such a motion apply to inflammatory statements about any case that Trump is currently involved in, or only the one in the DC Circuit?

It’s one of the pet conservative conspiracy/culture war issues right now. They’re claiming that drag performance is synonymous with burlesque or stripping, and thus having people in drag in the same zip code as minors is sexual abuse. It’s part of their assault in trans rights, as they’re equating drag with trans people, and saying that being trans is inherently sexual. It’s all a load of bullshit.

Exactly. What drag queen story hours is really: “A guy dressed as a princess reads a fairy tale book to little kids. The kids enjoy the ‘princess’ reading the story to them.”

What conservatives imagine it to be: “A guy dressed as a woman does a strip tease while reading The Joy of Sex. Meanwhile, images from a XXX movie flash in the background as the kids’ minds are warped.”

Encouraging people to read might make them smarter, which would lead to less votes for Republicans - therein lies the grave sin of reading!

His strategy has been consistent: treat all criminal investigations and prosecution against him as politically motivated harassment. Because that’s how he uses the law. Then, after he found guilty, he claims political assassination to rile up his base and foment an uprising to free him.

It’s for his disciples. All he needs to do is show them that she’s imperfect, that she’s “political,” or that she’s part of the Illuminati and, to them, the whole trial becomes invalid. It was already invalid because the prosecutors are oBviOuSLy political cronies of the Biden crime family, and having it tried before a political crackpot confirms that the whole legal system is just a Kangaroo Court of east coast elites.

It serves a double purpose - neither of which are directly tied to this trial.

The first is to grift. “I’m being treated so horribly by the liberals because they know I’ll stop them and make you fine MAGA folks rulers of this country. Now give me money!”

The second is to rile up his base to commit acts of violence. “This liberal prosecutor is unfairly coming after me. It sure would be convenient if someone did something to stop her!”

Of course, he won’t care if the people who commit acts of violence for him get arrested. He’ll use it to grift and incite more violence, but he wouldn’t work to free those suckers.
