House Democrats sound like they’re willing to save Speaker Kevin McCarthy from his right-wing revolt — but he’ll have to pay a price.

Specific concessions thrown out include greater Democratic representation on committees, forcing votes on Democratic bills and spiking votes on certain controversial Republican legislation.

Some great initial ideas. If McCarthy needs Democratic votes to keep his job, the Dems better get something meaty from that coalition.

    McCarthy has offered nothing.

Speaker Kevin McCarthy told CNBC that he won’t give Democrats anything to buy their votes today on motion to vacate.

Said McCarthy: “They will decide whatever they’re going to do. And we will live with whatever happens.”

And we all know McCarthy has strong principles that he sticks to. He definitely won’t completely change his story to save his own ass…

Fully equal power sharing agreement, or not a single Democratic vote.

Is what they should demand if they had a backbone.

It’s what McConnell demanded and got in the senate in 2022. I don’t see any reason why this should be different.

Yup exactly, shouldn’t be any different. I just don’t have a ton of confidence in the house Dems to actually demand what they want, hope I’m wrong.

They do have a certain penchant for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, don’t they? It so fucking infuriating, considering they’re essentially the only viable political force in the US standing between us and the Nationalist Christian neo-fascist club that the GOP is turning itself into.
