Harsh reviews are deserved. CoD is normally a copy paste of a game, and somehow they messed that up.

but some of the makers of Modern Warfare III say they hope their new corporate owners don’t judge them too harshly for the negative reception after a shortened development cycle that was beyond the studio’s control.

    Beyond the studio’s control? Why?

I’m gonna bet it was from Kotick. Likely dude wanted one last huge launch to get paid off of before he took his parachute.

I used to purchase every other release of CoD to play with my son in local multiplayer split screen, but after the last MWII I’m done. I feel ripped off by this product and fear the direction is not one that I’m too interested in anymore.

It’s an easy formula to rip off, I am surprised it hasn’t been done better yet. Maybe there is a good competitor that I have yet to hear of.

I launched Modern Warfare II, and there was an update to the UI that just fucked things up.

Now, in order to play Modern Warfare II, I have to: launch the launcher, scroll down to the BOTTOM OF THE PAGE to find the entry for Modern Warfare II (the game I paid for and expected to launch), to have the launcher exit and THEN launch the previous launcher for Modern Warfare II.

They literally JUST had an event, where the top prize (after collecting 1,000 souls) was an animated Ghoulie camo for weapons.
Now that camo glows fluorescent pink after this half arsed update, and nearly everyone who has it can’t even use it.

Launch MWIII and all that, brill, hope it does whatever to your sales. I don’t care. But why the hell would they mess up a separate game, which has worked fine for most of the 300+ hours I have in it?

Immediate uninstall. I thought they learnt not to shit on their fans since the MW2019 nonsense, I guess not.

I’m annoyed. No apologies for language, they’re a bunch of gobshites for pulling this.

Honestly this launcher has been a pain point for me from launch. All of these oversized windows for ease of use with a controller are too busy imho, and even before MWIII it was about 50/50 if there was a server side patch that required a restart.

I have SSDs and M2 etc, I shouldn’t have to wait 5-10 minutes to launch the dang thing

Same here. Running on a Gen3 nvme. Certainly took the longest to get into a game and much longer now, I just can’t be bothered.
I upgraded my PC recently and have just put focus on other games, and they just run beautifully in comparison.

They expected anything after the last releases? I gave up after WW2
