In the video, he calls himself a sovereign citizen, which is a group of people who believe they are immune to the government’s law and order.

The driver had been pulled over by police for driving without insurance and for having licence plates not issued by ICBC.

His problem was he didn’t speak the incantations just right.

These sov cits are so close with their spells, they just haven’t gotten the words just right yet.

    Keep trying.

See, that’s his problem. He should have claimed to be a Freeman on the Land, and referenced the Magna Carta.

Or invoke Her Majesty, Queen Roman Dildo Romana Didulo I of Canada. Totally would have worked! Give it a try guy, and post the results online!

Be careful, they might violate your second amendment!

Well, it’s not THEIR second amendment if it’s not THEIR country. Plus, it’s Canada anyways, we don’t have such craziness as a second amendment.

In any case, this was an enjoyable watch. I wish there’d been more of his rant shown.

Canada has amendments, the second one is generally seen as Prince Rupert joining the confederation.

Rupert’s Land (named after Prince Rupert). Not that I want to infringe on the first amendment (creation of Manitoba IIRC).

Although the city of Prince Rupert is pretty damp and dreary…

There has never been a case where a person claimed to be a sovereign citizen and it went their way. Not even once. It makes one wonder why they even bother. How can a person be so utterly wrong about how things work and still manage to function.

As much as these people are annoying and ignorant assholes, they’re also victims of fraudsters who pretend to know the secrets of living an easier life through secret magical knowledge of “the law”. They sell this bullshit in seminars where people are paying $500 to $1000 a seat.

These people boggle the mind. Say that was a valid argument for not having insurance or licensing, so why do they think they’re entitled to use the roads the government, which they don’t support, paid for and maintains? They want all the benefits of government without having to support or pay for it? Absolute lunacy.

they want all the benefits of government without having to support or pay for it?

Because they are selfish. These are people who balk at any and all challenge.
