I tried it out. The current lack of BLE support excludes a fair number of controllers (Steam Controller, Xbox Series Controller amongst them). Waking with a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller works but getting the controller to properly connect after that is finnicky, oddly enough.

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown looks like a banger, but I am unwilling to spend any amount money on it until Ubi gets the memo and strips Denuvo from it (at least outside of the launch window).

The genre is ASS games. Can’t go wrong with that.

Why emulate ? The Master Chief Collection is available on PC. It’s missing Halo 5 though. And then Infinite went ahead and cancelled this whole storyline.

Unfortunately, the company is now empty of employees, so the road ahead will be entirely different.

The Sniper Elite series is basically nazi-killing porn. Those won’t let you down, especially if you enjoy unplanned testicular detonations happening to nazis of any kind.

The people laid off in 2023 (no less than 16% of the company’s headcount) might have opinions upon hearing that.

Most GitS installments are unconnected. The only actuel sequel to the original movie is the followup movie “Innocence” which is a very different beast. You can find a complete relation graph on AniDB.

My recommendation would be to watch the “Standalone Complex” series (2 seasons + 1 special) from the early 2000’s. It’s top tier even though the CG does show its age. Then if you want more you could go ahead and watch the “Arise” tv show from 2015, not bad but not as good as SAC.

I would strongly advise against watching the recent Netflix-produced SAC_2045 : it’s painfully bad and ugly-looking.

Epic actually financed Remedy’s development of the game, as opposed to swooping in at the last minute to offer a timed-exclusivity deal. In that case I was fine buying the game on their platform if it meant the game got to exist at all. After all I do not expect Valve to sell their games on another platform than their own.

Don’t get me wrong: I’d rather the game was sold on Steam, or even better, DRM-less on GOG. I did wait for a number of those timed exclusives to find their way on Steam or other stores (Borderlands 3, Kena, Journey, Control, Hades, etc). It’s a shame that so many people will not get to experience AW2 because of its delivery platform, because it’s a damn unique game.

Circuit Superstars runs beautifully on the deck. Do not be fooled by its top down point of view, it actually leans towards simulation rather than arcade (aka “simcade”).

On the other side of that coin, BlazeRush is full on arcade mayhem. It is also top down PoV, which I find lends itself very well to portable gaming.

Looking good ! This show looks like it will be crunchy if nothing else.

It’s been 20ish years but the name that sprang up to mind was Now and Then, Here and There. I don’t remember much except it was pretty bleak and sad.

Not Steam emoticons though, unfortunately.
