  • Luanti has a cogwheels button on the top-right side of the UI. Click that, go to Graphics and change the Maximum FPS to what you want and click the Set button to save the change. At the same time, make sure VSync is disabled, to see if Luanti can handle the maximum FPS you set.

That said, there’s an open issue about Luanti having FPS issues since version 5.9.0. The issue is still open, with 5.10 being the latest Luanti release, and that’s all we have at the moment.

Hi! :) You can look for them at night, of course, when they have no problem being out in the open. Or if you want to find more of them, go to a WarpedForest biome in the Nether.

  • I think picking a spawner that is closer to you is a very reliable source of XP. I made myself drop farms from those, so the mobs can get some damage, making them easier to kill. The idea is simple - just make a 3x3 or 5x5 (bigger = better) hole under the spawner, with a platform for the mobs to fall on, and just enough room for you to be able to hit them.

You have to be in range of the spawner, within 16 blocks, so don’t go too deep when you dig that hole - just enough to maximize the damage the mobs get. And to make sure they don’t spawn outside the drop zone, close the dungeon and light up the places outside close enough for them to spawn.

    simple but effective :)

P.S. This will change in the future, but currently the mobs drop XP when they die. So if you place magma cubes where the mobs fall, they will die from damage, drop XP orbs, so you can just idle with your tool that needs mending in your hand, and come back later to switch to another one needing mending.

  • The Nether is 128 blocks tall, and Ancient Debris can be found between the bottom of this dimension and 119 blocks above bottom. So basically the last 10 layers don’t have Ancient Debris but it exists everywhere else.

This ore is very rare, but the best chance (0.004%) to find it is between Y layers 8 - 22 above the bottom. Outside of this section of the Nether, below and above you get the same chance (0.003125%).

A less common approach that I like to use sometimes, is to use Fire Resistance potions (from piglin bartering) and dive into lava lakes to look for exposed Ancient Debris. Sometimes you can easily spot a few blocks, which is great.

  • Here are two mods that I just love for a challenge:

These mods are great for new worlds, where you want to challenge yourself to survive in harsh conditions. In particular, HarderVoxels is unforgiving, being similar to Minecraft’s “hardcore mode” - more damage from hostiles, and permadeath.

Safe to use mods for VoxeLibre are usually the recently updated ones listed on ContentDB with our game marked as being compatible with. I recommend the ones most recently updated because they can become incompatible in time, sometimes because our games just has to do some incompatible changes, and sometimes because the engine itself introduces significant incompatibilities a few versions later.

A great mod for aesthetics is VoxeLibre Furniture and decorations, created specifically for our game by one of our contributors - who also made HarderVoxels. If you click his name on ContentDB you’ll find more mods that work with our game. He does a great job at improving his mods and keeping them compatible with the latest Luanti and VoxeLibre, so those mods are great to use.

Another great mod is Dwarf Fortress style caverns, whose developer made an effort to make it compatible with our game.

And a shameless plug, my simple mod Wet Mud, which gives you a way to hydrate farmland without leaking water. :)
