    I wonder how this would apply to the Fediverse. Is Texas going to sue individual instance owners if someone posts some boobs?

      Yeah probably. How long until every site with user generate content starts banning texas?

      In the worst case, it’ll be something like piracy communities. You can bully lots of small instance owners, but there’s always going to be someone who’s willing to host it someplace where enforcement is lax.

        Do they have a physical presence in the state, though? If they don’t, then Texas has no authority whatsoever over them. A physical presence is the only way kowtowing to these fascists makes any financial sense.

          Laws don’t apply the same way. Paxton was suing other states and out-of-state hospitals for surgery information related to gender. They’ve gone off the deep end

      Nah, this is for political points, not utility. They’re only interested in the big ones who can get them some money, which definitely won’t be wasted on blackjack and hookers will be used for political campaigning.
