Federico Garcia Lorca, 1922
The moon goes over the water.
How tranquil the sky is!
She goes scything slowly
the old shimmer from the river;
meanwhile a young frog
takes her for a little mirror.
So it means the frog doesn’t see the moon as this great-encompassing thing?
Lorca’s writing is so full of frogs and lizards and snakes and crocodiles that I’m certain there’s even further symbolism to it than that; it’s such a theme of his.
But not gonna lie, I’m not nearly enough of an expert to say what all the amphibians & reptiles mean!
So you into analysing creative writing and such? If so, would you perhaps like to criticise mine? trying to write a book c:
I certainly am into that; but depending on your book’s subject I might not be best-suited to criticize it!
e.g. I don’t read very much fiction, so while I’m a hell of a proofreader I wouldn’t necessarily make a great editor for a novel lol
Oh not asking you to edit, just your experience as a reader is all
Sure, lay it on me!
