    I was told this the day after my father died. I was walking to my college class just trying to act normal. Wish I would have responded appropriately but being shell shocked over bigger problems prevented me.

      I have no problem mouthing off to assholes - as long as I’m prepared. When it comes out of nowhere, my brain stalls up.

      The correct response, and ive actually done this becausebim a complete edgelord and its my default was "you’re right. Grandma was a racist bitch; I should be happy she’s dead. Thanks mister!’

      Most of the time changing your face does change your mood. It’s not awful advice, and letting it out can help people empathize. It’s almost never meant to be demeaning or patronizing.
