And if you are, you are pretty damn lucky. No raise in past 9 years here.

I don’t mean to be insensitive but what’s keeping you at a job that hasn’t given you a raise in 9 years? I would have been polishing up my resume after year 2s review with nothing to show for it

Loss aversion, role scarcity, non compete contract, retirement package, and family. Not always as simple as just following the money. Question isn’t insensitive at all, putting yourself in someone’s shoes in a complex situation you don’t understand though is just flippantly presumptuous.

But I, I said, I, I don’t care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I, then I’m quitting, I’m going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they’ve moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were married, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn’t bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler.

It’s true, that swingline with it’s branded staples are a beast. The Boston one feels like a cheap toy.
