Long cycles is a strategy of the institutional parties. Both sides in the US. It’s endlessly tiring by design, so that no one fatal campaign misstep/flaw can tank the whole platform.

Exactly! The most recent UK general election cycle was only 45 days long (May 22nd when Sunak announced the election date, to July 5th which was the day after election day). Arguably it was actually only 44 days, but I threw in an extra day at the end for good measure. Compared to that 100 days is an age.
What happened to all the Biden stans who were so convinced that if we didn’t have an octogenarian genocide supporter as our candidate like they wanted, there would be chaos?

Try following international elections, this is the norm and our 4 year election cycles aren’t.
Even 106 is still ages for other countries. France took what 2 weeks? I do think that’s a bit short to get all the skeletons out of people’s closets but the years long US cycles are exhausting. By the time we relax from one the next one starts up again.
