Well then it’s a good thing Trump won. Pretty soon you won’t need to worry about Palestinians at all because Trump will help make sure Israel can “finish what they started” as he put it. So, good job. Yay you guys for sticking it to Harris.

I don’t know. I voted for Kamala, but I think Trump might actually be better long-term for the Palestinians than Kamala.

Yes, Trump would happily watch as Israel bulldozed and annexed the entirety of Gaza and the West Bank. But Israel’s ability to do that isn’t contingent on US military aid. What really prevents that is broader global public opinion. If Israel tries a full and rapid ethnic cleansing, it will be completely embargoed by every nation in Europe.

There is a reason Israel has been doing a slow-mo “genocide by zoning code” in the West Bank for years. They know they can’t get away with overt genocide, not without facing mass trade embargoes.

The truth is, I really don’t know if things can realistically get bad enough in Palestine for the Kamala/Trump distinction to be any different. Even in the case of an overt genocide, Kamala would simply withdraw some offensive aid. Trump would keep that aid flowing, but in either case, if Israel decided to do a full overt genocide of the Palestinians, neither a Trump nor Harris administration would meaningfully intervene.

The only long-term hope for any improvement for US policy on Israel is if Democrat leaders listen to their base and stop supporting them. Kamala was going to be fully pro-Israel. And with Kamala as an incumbent, no anti-Zionist candidate would have been able to run in 2028. Now with Kamala out of the picture, and with her seeming loss due to her and Biden’s addiction to fellating Israel, there is room politically for anti-genocide voices to actually have a chance at a major party’s nomination.

I would say the chances of an anti-genocide president being in office in 2029 are about 10-20%. With a Harris win, that chance would be 0%.

This is the real life trolley problem.

You either become an active participant to prevent more people from being killed or you leave more people getting killed without participating.

People should have elected a better leader who have a good ethics to stop the killings from happening in the first place.

          How so?

People who did not vote are not participants!

They are merely observers. till they make an active choice that impact what is happening in wars.

Dude, even Bernie Sanders realise what is the mistake his party did by electing Harris.

I agree with Bernie’s rant today, but he still campaigned and voted against the fascist gaining power. Honestly though, the only state Gaza might have effected is Michigan. America does not care about Gaza. The price of Doritos and a fucking squirrel was more important to most voters.

So Palestine are choosing to run over themselves alone or run over all the people?

This does not make any sense.

No. They are a common victim of the trolley. I simply didn’t render the person deciding their vote as, given the topic of discussion at hand, felt it was implied. Clearly I should have foreseen that the complicated moral of “Palestine was fucked either way, but there are other people that can be saved” was too advanced for some.

    No. Dumb take.

Can’t wait to hear what you have to say when Trump essentially eliminates Palestinian territory from the map.

    Idiots.

        Literally does not matter.

Harris was AGAINST what is happening now.

Trump literally said he’d "let them go wild to fix it’, referring to Israel.

That’s a dead as fuck Palestine.

        Expletives removed.

          Source:

“Let me be clear, I will always stand up for Israel’s right to defend itself and I will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself,” she said tonight. She said that Israelis should “never again” go through the horror and “unspeakable” attacks of Oct. 7.

She then went on to offer thoughts and prayers to Palestine.

          Don’t mistake her position.

            Cool link.

Go and search for something like “Harris against genocide” FFS. Do yourself a favor.

And let’s not be super fucking glib about this: the Palestinian situation is because a well funded terrorist group pulled what is analogous to a 9/11 in the states on Israel.

A terrorist group that operates out of Palestine got them into this, but the clapback is way stronger than they anticipated, and is growing a social divide amongst a very specific group occupying a very specific locale.

Trump will do nothing to de-escalate this, and just let Israel “run wild” as he said.

That’s a fucking genocide in writing.

And the “principled”, “unwaivering”, and allergic to nuance helped usher in a fascist who is the self proclaimed “protector” of Israel.

Anyone who thought that the guy who recognized Israel’s contested capital, who “fought for Israel like no president ever before,” who claimed "Anybody who’s Jewish and loves being Jewish and loves Israel is a fool if they vote for a Democrat,” who believes that the US election day was “the most important day in the history of Israel,” who wants to deport students exercising their right to protest the genocide, and who’s only criticism of the genocide was that it was too public and slow would be better for Gaza is a deluded fool.
