Let’s just be honest, here. Fantasy sports are just dungeons and dragons for jocks.
Also, “super fans” are just cosplayers, who happen to be jocks. And usually not very good cosplayers.
This is said pretty often on the internet but as a sports fan I don’t get it.
Like, if I wear my favourite player’s jersey, I don’t wanna portray them in any kind or form. It’s a show of support and a form of tribalism, really, that can easily be mocked without wildly misinterpreting it.
I wanted to find a good analogy but first came up with wearing colours to sports events, ha! But really it’s like wearing a band shirt on a live show; nobody’d call that cosplaying.
Edit: of course there’s full kit wankers but in decades of visiting mainland European footie stadiums I’ve only ever seen one. Seems to be a British thing. Let’s not talk about them.
A sampling of jocks cosplaying:
These are all fans wearing costumes. Cosplay is wearing costumes for fun. (Possibly with role play, but like Halloween is costume play.)
Ah you beat me to it. Well put!
Does that orc have a boob-window in its top?
Not mine, but yeah.
I feel like whoever made this didn’t really know what cleavage was.
Honestly I think it is supposed to be a cleavage hole, mostly based off of the other vampire armors its just that I think it got mostly sanitized out before the DLC released. It kinda makes sense vampires have had an allure and a sexual nature since Bram Stoker. A good example of this is Kevin from Hunter: The Parenting, stupid Kevin and his stupid sexy wizard hat why do the Tremere get all the cool shit.
Vampirella. 1969. Boob-sliding door.
I respect this.
Oh, for sure. It’s just that there’s no actual cleavage in the picture. And the meme is about cleavage. It’s not as if there aren’t millions of images that would’ve suited the meme better. I can’t fathom the thinking behind selecting this image, unless the person making it either didn’t know what cleavage was, or maybe thought a picture with cleavage was too ribald for a meme about cleavage.
Eh I just figure they didnt care enough to figure out the right term, what would that be called properly a collarbone window. Bit awkward, I am just making guesses BTW I am a 25 year old Redneck all I know about womens fashion is that they arent allowed to have pockets for some fucking reason.
ribald
Good vocab. She is quite the harlot.
Less a harlot, more a strumpet.
Oh they both do
Klingon, and yes
OMG, I have a very vague memory of Blood Bowl! I think neighbor friend had it or something?
It’s so great! The pc versions still hold up btw! As long as you pretend that 3 never happened, that is 😁
Fantasy league sports turned out to be alright.
It’s just like D&D in bum-smacking skins, where the campaign continues whether the other character-players show-up or not.
Both of those faces remind me so much of Nadja from What We Do in the Shadows for some reason.
Great observation!
Five spits for a blood enemy.
The Fremen of Dune do NOT approve
M’benga yelling in frustration at Nadja for the waste of water:
You can hear that she spits dry, which I anyways felt was more insulting.
My thought too, it’s the snear on the right that got me!
Honestly, I’d rather overhear talk about the sports ball match than the homophobic and misogynistic bullshit I usually hear. At least racism isn’t also usually included. I get enough of that from online gaming.
That is completely understandable
I often fantasize about Picard being a rank 1 running back.
Sisko would be a great closing pitcher who can crush HRs, I see Janeway playing rugby and terrorizing everyone in her way
It’s me, ur colleague.
DEATH TO THE OPPOSITION
Are we still allowed to talk about anbo jitsu and parreses squares?
WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT TALKING ABOUT PARRESES SQUARES AROUND HIM?!
As long as you wear the uniforms first:
You’ll be very glad I’m not wearing the squares uniform.
Give me a good game of stratagem instead.
Say that reminds me the Winter springball league is forming. Signup sheet outside holosuite 3.
Would
They look like the Wayans brothers
Weyouns brothers? No, they were clones.
Yeah! How dare anyone have any interests different from yours!
I love many spectator sports, and pretty mainstream ones at that… but, ummm, have you met many of my fellow sports fans? The reaction described by this meme is, shall we say, understandable.
