Not just Philippines. Vietnam is being pushed out of the region.

See, the sea (pun intended) has always been fished by amongst many nationalities for thousands of years with absolutely no fighting whatsoever. Filipino fishermen themselves mentioned they even share some of their catch to Vietnamese and Chinese fishermen; until the Chinese government just laid claim to South China Sea unilaterally.

There was no problem at all to begin with. It is only the government attempting to brainwash their citizens to hate on other people.

Maybe what’s confusing is that it’s called the South China Sea. Not surprising really that China thinks it’s theirs. Let’s rename it to the Brunei Sea or something, then that’ll clarify the situation and solve all the problems.

Indonesia renamed it as North Natuna Sea. Philippines renamed it as West Philippine Sea.

Place your bet on which country will be next to rename the sea and what it would be.

That’s a little like saying the Gulf of Mexico unilaterally belongs to Mexico, even though it also comprises ~45% of the eastern shoreline in the US.
