      It made sense when the party was formed during the civil war. Republicans believed in a strong unifying federal government, rule of the Republic vs rule of the individual states.

    I’ve never seen a MAGA in Ireland (didn’t exist back then) but given how much we were taking the piss of the average American, I expect things would get pretty epic if one of those morons came over these days. Mighty craic would be had by all, no doubt.
