Because CNN got shifted towards the right for a while. I know there’s been leadership change at CNN relatively recently, but I don’t know if that leadership is making any changes on that front, or if any attempted changes are having an effect.

They think they need to just “let the candidate speak for themselves” unless it’s a left leaning candidate, and then they either;
A, Ignore the candidate completely,
B, Tear into the candidate on made up metrics like “electability” despite how popular the candidate actually is.More has been written on this subject, but this is a good one.
It’s cuz the people who own media companies love republican policies and candidates no matter how “left-leaning” they allow their outlets to present as. An actual left-wing news station would tear desantis apart but they don’t exist because of media concentration.

If you listened to the whole video they talk about not providing life savings care to the child, which is not murder. There are a ton of babies who don’t do well after birth and are not expected to survive long. This happens for a lot of different reasons. Withdraw of care, or moving to comfort care, is a well defined and common occurrence across the medical field. People die all the time and you can artificially preserve things like the heartbeat and breathing with machines, but you have to decide if that’s what is best for the patient. It’s not murder, it’s not “post term abortion” either.

Listen, I used to be like you. I used to be confident that most people were smarter than shit like the idea of “post birth abortion.” You know what shattered that faith? The election in 2016. While it might be true that the majority of people aren’t that dumb, it doesn’t matter; it only takes *just enough *knuckleheads that eat up the shit like DeSantis is spreading to fuck us all.
There are enough people that will believe “post birth abortions” are happening - just like there were enough that believed (and STILL believe!) the election was stolen - simply because DeSantis said so, to be a considerable threat to our democracy.

The idea is it’s a late-term abortion where the baby is partially born and then killed. These abortions have been officially illegal since 2003. In general, only a tiny percentage of abortions are performed later than 24 weeks, and it’s almost always because of something terrible. Now, the military is currently allowing those of us unfortunate enough to be stationed in Florida or Texas or Missouri or Alabama or insert-red-state here, to go on non-chargeable leave and a portion of travel related expenses are covered. Not the procedure itself.
