Don’t buy the hype. Musk isn’t a smart idiot, he’s an idiot idiot. He buys successful companies for outsized sums and seems to be useful in leadership only when it comes to fundraising.
The other folks are mid twenties devs - those folks generally have eyes bigger than their stomachs. And the actions they’ve undertaken so far have been technically trivial and they’ve still fucked it up massively (specifically, they’ve had to send out several mass emails and hide pronouns on a lot of personnel pages).
I’m not assuming they can’t do damage. An untrained novice in a computer system can do a lot of damage… and a junior developer with the best intentions can do immense damage.
I’m sure some of these people are technically competent but without someone with a long view and experience they’re going to “move fast and break things” and when that thing is the national payment system it can get hella broken.
And now everyone will know their name for all time…Kinda scary realy. Not worth a job. Thats going to stay with them, Imagine if they get on Elons bad side, they will be tossed to the wolves.
Let’s hope they’re still using COBOL there and that it slows them down.
