Mr Giuliani filed for bankruptcy last month after he was ordered to pay $148m to Georgia election workers he defamed

Donald Trump’s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani has listed a claim against the one-term president over unpaid legal fees in a new bankruptcy filing.

The ex-New York City mayor includes a “possible claim for unpaid legal fees against Donald J Trump.” in the 26 January filing, which states that the amount is “undetermined.”

Mr Giuliani filed for bankruptcy last month, days after a federal judge ordered him to “immediately” pay more than $148m to a pair of Georgia election workers a jury determined he defamed.

Mr Giuliani represented Mr Trump in a string of unsuccessful lawsuits contesting the results of the 2020 election that he lost to Joe Biden.

Mr Trump’s legal fees owed to Mr Giuliani have previously been reported. The New York Times wrote in August 2023 that “Mr Trump has never explicitly told Mr Giuliani why he is effectively stiffing him, but the former president has pointed out that he lost the cases related to the election.”

Under “tax refunds owed to you,” the filing also mentions “Overpayment of taxes from The Mask Singer” in California for more than $10,000. Mr Giuliani performed on “The Masked Singer” in 2022, in which he sang “Bad to the Bone.”

This timeline is just too weird.

I’m really curious how much the shit stain got paid for the one or two episodes on the Masked Singer that it could be possible to have overpaid his taxes related to it by over $10K.

I really enjoyed the first couple seasons of that show but then it abruptly went downhill pretty fast.

Alright, this is the only Trump nickname I can actually fuck with. All the other ones are pretty cringe to me, but this one I like.

          Not even Cheeto Mussolini?

OJC is pretty solid though. Especially while his buddies are (possibly) stabbing him in the back.

I thought that was funny, so I checked the source again, leaving me disappointed - feeling that they were just providing context for international readers.

Am I wrong (it was indeed a jab over the Stop The Steal mindset)?

The article, if I recall, used multiple such phrases in lieu of pronouns and articles just to make the story flow a little more nicely.

        Still made me snort.

If only there had been some previous examples of Trump not paying people, maybe this could’ve been avoided?

This is good though, it means the infighting has started to finally reach the top. The rats will eat each other now.

How was this guy a mayor?
Trump has a decades long history of not paying his debts. I assumed all his lawyers would insist on payment in full first.

He was mayor during 9/11, not because of it.

That aside, you’re right about him coasting off 9/11 for quite a while. His failed Presidential bid was basically him spamming "9/11” from start, to finish.

He had the same problem as Meatball Ron: the more the GOP base voters heard him and saw him, the more they were repulsed by him.

I don’t think that makes any sense.
